During these quarantine weeks many artists and musicians have continued to communicate and help people with music. One of them, Alex Britti, who has always been one of my favorite guitarists, started giving guitar lessons on Instagram raising funds for the Niguarda Hospital. I started to follow all his broadcasts, thinking that I would love to go on a call with him and let him listen to some of my songs. In the last guitar lesson Alex announced that he wanted to create a contest, a sort of exam inviting musicians to send him a video playing one of his songs. He and two other guitarists Antonio Maiello and Marco Iacobini would select 10 musicians and then challenge each other in a live Instagram. The winner would have the chance to play live with him as soon as the Covid19 situation was resolved. I talked to Simona about this contest and the words were these: "Simo do you think I should participate? And she answered "why not". So I sent a 15 second video while playing the intro to 7000 Caffè. I didn't think I could make it among the 10 finalists. I remember my emotion that Saturday, April 11th during the live broadcast, I was so excited but at the same time happy and with the desire to play and make the most of this opportunity.

The performance went well, I was very enthusiastic about it and Alex's positive reaction was also unexpected. So I asked him if I could also play my song "Hope" from my new album recorded in New York. It was really nice to play for him and all the people who watched live Instagram. While studying 7000 coffees I fell in love with this piece adapting it to my style and playing it with Alex's half tone chords underneath just like his guitar.

The next day, April 12 on Easter Sunday, I got a notification: "Alex Britti tagged you in his post" I couldn't believe my eyes, so I immediately clicked on the notification, and saw his video where he announced the two winners. His words were: "the other winner as the most complete artist, as voice and unpublished songs is Roberta Finocchiaro! I'll wait for you on stage as soon as possible to return to the concerts". I will remember the happiness I felt that day for a long time! It was a really nice experience in this difficult moment where the fear of the future is getting stronger and stronger. Thank you very much Alex! I can't wait to get on stage with you! And thank you to all the people who are close to me and always support me! The music will never stop.
